Pixel RF Microneedling

Are you unhappy with the look and feel of your skin? Perhaps you are beginning to notice signs of early aging such as fine lines or wrinkles, or are bothered by acne scars, large pores, or hyperpigmentation. If this sounds like you, you may be able to benefit from RF microneedling. Pixel8-RF is a revolutionary solution to help restore youthful skin without surgery or downtime.

What is RF Microneedling?

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure that combines the skin-tightening power of radio frequency and the penetrating power of microneedling to produce dramatic skin rejuvenation.

Pixel8-RF microneedling improves skin tone, texture and tightness, and can be used on any part of the body. It improves:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Acne scars
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Lax skin
  • Large pores
  • Cellulite

The RF Microneedling Treatment

To begin your RF microneedling treatment, the targeted area will be thoroughly cleansed, and a topical numbing cream will be applied to ensure you are comfortable. Once the numbing cream has kicked in, the microneedling device will be passed across the skin, creating tiny micro-wounds to stimulate collagen and elastin production. At the same time, the tip of the needles will release RF waves for further skin improvement. This process can take between 10-30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Your provider may also apply a soothing solution at the end of treatment to help minimize inflammation.

Can the RF Microneedling be used on all skin types?

Yes! Unlike other lasers, the Pixel8-RF uses strictly radio frequency energy. The micro needles deliver the RF energy into the dermis with no damage to the epidermis. This eliminates the risk of PIH in darker skin types, therefore being safe for all tones!

Who is a Candidate?

Individuals who are in good health and are interested in combating early signs of aging and improving their complexion can often benefit from this treatment. However, those who have an active skin infection or cold sore breakout, have used Accutane in the past six months, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring, or have a skin disease such as psoriasis should not undergo this treatment. For more information regarding candidacy, contact our office today.

Downtime

After your RF microneedling treatment, there is no downtime needed, so you can feel free to return to your regular activities. You may experience temporary redness, swelling, and discomfort. Ice packs can be applied to the treatment area for short periods of time to reduce swelling. It is important that you wear SPF during the weeks following treatment, as your skin will be sensitive to the sun, and use a gentle cleanser daily to keep your skin clean.

A series of at least four sessions are often needed to obtain optimal results, which should be spaced out every 4-6 weeks. Patients will be able to see results after 3-6 months.

Are there different types of Microneedling?

Yes! Different types of Microneedling are used for different purposes. Microneedling with radiofrequency causes more damage, to stimulate more collagen and elastin.

Can Microneedling go wrong?

The primary risk of Microneedling is skin irritation after the procedure and some possible swelling. When visiting an untrained professional, burns and scarring can occur.

Can you microneedle too often?

It is recommended to micro needle every 4 to 6 weeks. Doing this procedure too often can lead to complications and skin damage.
