Dermal Fillers

DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that are meant to restore volume beneath the skin, smooth sagging skin, fill wrinkles and remove crow’s feet. For men and women who desire a more youthful appearance, dermal fillers can be a convenient option. At our office, we offer a large selection of soft tissue fillers to meet the needs of each individual.

Filler Types

Juvéderm

The Juvéderm® family of dermal fillers was created to add volume and reduce the signs of aging in several areas of the face. Created with hyaluronic acid (HA), these dermal fillers work by adding volume underneath the skin, smoothing smile lines, and reversing the signs of aging. There are many different Juvéderm® formulations, each created to create a natural appearance with every injectable treatment.

Voluma

Voluma is specifically designed to restore a full, plump look to your cheeks after experiencing facial fat loss. It is injected deep into the skin so it can prevent deep wrinkles and contour the jaw line. Because it works so deep in the skin, it can last longer than many other types of dermal fillers; even other forms of Juvéderm.

Revanesse Versa™

Revanesse® Versa™ is a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler created to smooth lines and fill wrinkles on the face, as well as enhance facial volume. It is specifically formulated for a more precise application to the injection site, and less swelling compared to other HA fillers. The main difference between Versa™ and other dermal fillers is that there is minimal swelling after initial treatment.

Restylane

Restylane is a line of hyaluronic acid–based facial fillers that help smooth wrinkles and plump your cheeks and lips. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our skin, especially in connective tissue, so it is an ideal filler material for cosmetic procedures. It's typically used in cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and around your mouth.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a dermal filler created with CaHA, which is made from poly l lactic acid. CaHA fillers provide immediate contouring and stimulation of collagen and elastin production. When Radiesse® is injected into your skin, the CaHA fillers integrate with natural components in your tissue to create a “scaffold”. As the gel-like substances break down over time, a network of collagen fibers forms to reverse signs of facial aging.

Bellafill® & Sculptra®

Both Bellafill® and Sculptra® are long-lasting, collagen-stimulating injectable dermal fillers that help add volume to the face, buttocks, or other areas of the body. These injectable fillers help the skin maintain its youthful appearance and can last up to 5 years. Over time, the body will use the microspheres in the gel to create natural collagen in your skin's connective tissue, giving you your lost volume back, and improving your facial anatomy.

Kybella®

Kybella®, although not exactly a dermal filler, is an injectable treatment used for reducing the appearance of a double chin. Kybella® can destroy facial fat cells, giving our clients a more youthful and slimmer appearance.

Filler Treatments

Facial Contouring

Facial contouring refers to a combination of different types of dermal fillers to bring out the face’s natural-looking contour. The areas are typically the cheeks, chin, and jawline, but the dermal filler procedure can vary from person to person, as well as the amount and type of filler required.

Lip Fillers (Lip Enhancement)

Lip injectable fillers are made of hyaluronic acid and can be injected into the upper and lower lips. They can restore volume to correct uneven lips, lift the corners of the mouth, define the Cupid's bow, enhance the lip border, and smooth lines and wrinkles around the lip.

Tear Trough Filler

This dermal filler or hyaluronic acid filler can be injected into the tear troughs to fill in under-eye hollows.

Liquid Rhinoplasty

This is a nonsurgical option to traditional rhinoplasty. It involves injecting hyaluronic acid filler into a patient’s nose to reshape it or to improve the contours. A liquid rhinoplasty can temporarily address issues like dorsal humps, drooping nasal tips, or an asymmetrical nose.

Jawline Contouring

This non-surgical treatment uses dissolvable dermal fillers to sculpt the jawline and add definition to create a slimmer appearance.

Facial Enhancement

When diluted with sterile saline and lidocaine, Radiesse® can be used as a bio-stimulatory agent to rejuvenate skin on the face, neck, and body rather than a volumizing filler.

Hand Rejuvenation Radiesse or Restylane

Restylane Lyft and Radiesse are both FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers for hand rejuvenation. These ha fillers restore volume to the dorsal hand, reversing the volume loss that tends to increase with age while plumping it up for a smoother appearance.

Can you drink alcohol after Juvederm?

Can Volbella be used for marionette lines?

Although we normally would recommend PRP for marionette lines, Volbella can be used to lift the cheeks, therefore softening the marionettes!

Can Volbella be used under eyes?

Can Sculptra and Voluma be used together?

Sculptra is a great filler to combine with hyaluronic acid fillers either at the same time or in separate visits.

Can Voluma move around?

One settled, Voluma cannot be moved around or migrate.

Can Vollure be used in cheeks?

Due to its ability to be placed both superficial and deep, Vollure is a great option for filling the cheeks.

Does Vollure stimulate collagen?

Yes! Because it is working from the inside out, the hyaluronic acid supports water retention and collagen production, leaving you with a plump and fresh look.

Can you sleep on your face after fillers?

Avoid sleeping on your face after fillers. This could cause the filler to move into a spot it does not belong.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments created to smooth lines, folds, and wrinkles on the face, as well as restore youthful volume to the mid-face and lips. Most dermal fillers are created with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts water and adds volume under the skin.

How are dermal fillers different from neuromodulators?

While dermal fillers work to add volume under the skin to smooth lines and restore volume, neuromodulators such as Botox work by temporarily relaxing facial muscles, preventing them from contracting and leading to dynamic wrinkles. Both treatments are injected into the targeted area.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The longevity of your dermal or cosmetic filler will depend on the particular formula used, the area of the body it’s injected in and an individual’s metabolism. Results can last anywhere from six months to more than five years, depending on the filler chosen. Our team can help determine which filler is right for you and your anti-aging goals.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are considered a safe treatment when performed by a skilled doctor and surgeon such as Nadiv Shapira, MD, FAC. A licensed healthcare professional should perform all dermal filler procedures using only FDA-approved fillers injected with a syringe or cannula for the best results.

What are the different types of dermal fillers?

There are a variety of different types of dermal fillers. Most are created with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts moisture and adds volume under the skin. There are also other fillers that are created with substances that stimulate the production of collagen in the skin for a more youthful appearance. Our team will help you choose the dermal filler that is right for your anti aging goals.

Who is a good candidate for fillers?

Some fillers can be used to treat individuals 18 years and older, while others are approved for those 22 years and older. Ideal candidates will be those who are overall healthy and do not have any conditions that could hinder the healing process. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a bleeding disorder, or have an active skin condition at the treatment site you should not receive fillers. The best way to find out if you are a good candidate is to schedule a consultation appointment at our office.

What does the filler recovery process look like?

There is little to no downtime required following filler injections. While you may experience some mild redness, swelling, bruising, itching, or tenderness at the injection site, these effects should dissipate with time. We do recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and intense sun exposure for 12 to 24 hours after your treatment for the best results.

What is the price of fillers?

The pricing of dermal fillers will vary depending on the filler of your choice and the size of the area to be treated. If you are interested in learning more about dermal fillers and the cost, please contact our office today to schedule an appointment.
