Juvéderm®

Are you beginning to notice lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth? Or maybe you have begun to lose volume in your midface. If this sounds like you, you may be a good candidate for Juvéderm® dermal fillers.

What is Juvéderm®?

The Juvéderm® family of fillers was created to reduce signs of aging on several areas of the face. Created with hyaluronic acid (HA), these fillers work by adding volume underneath the skin, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, and adding youthful volume. There are many different Juvéderm® formulations, each created to address unique signs of aging.

Juvéderm® XC: Juvéderm® XC was created to correct moderate to severe facial folds and smile lines. Results can last up to one year.

Juvéderm® Voluma™ XC: Due to loss of collagen, our cheeks may flatten as we age. This can cause you to appear older than you feel. Juvederm® Voluma™ is formulated to add volume under the skin to lift the cheek area, as well as improve a chin profile. Results can last up to two years in the cheeks and one year in the chin.

Juvéderm® Vollure™ XC: Juvéderm® Vollure™ XC is meant to treat moderate to severe folds and wrinkles in the face. Results can last up to 18 months.

Juvéderm® Volbella™ XC: This filler is created for lip augmentation and the softening of lines around the lips. Results can last up to one year.

Juvéderm® Ultra XC: Juvéderm® Ultra XC can be used to add volume to the lips, as well as smooth moderate to severe parentheses lines around the nose and mouth. Results can last up to one year.

The Juvéderm® Treatment

To begin your Juvéderm® treatment, your skin will first be thoroughly cleansed and then a topical numbing cream will be applied. This is to dull any discomfort that may be caused by injections. Next, your provider will mark the areas to be treated, and a small needle will be used to inject the Juvéderm® filler under the skin.

Who is a Candidate?

Adults ages 18  and older who would like to correct age-related volume loss or lines and wrinkles can often benefit from Juvéderm® fillers. However, you should not receive this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have a history of excessive scarring or pigmentation disorders. If you are considering dermal filler or would like to learn more about candidacy, please contact our office today to schedule a consultation appointment.

Downtime

Following your Juvéderm® filler treatment, you may experience mild redness, bruising, and swelling at the injection sites. However, these effects are temporary and will resolve within a short period of time. There is no downtime needed, which means that you can return to your daily activities as soon as you feel comfortable. However, we advise that you minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to heat or sun, and alcohol consumption within the first 24 hours of treatment.
